Braden Lindstrom, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Braden grew up in North Logan, Utah. Teaching is the family profession: His father was an art professor, mother and sister elementary school teachers, a second sister a high school counselor, and a younger brother served as a military training officer. After earning a Master’s degree in English at Utah State University, Dr. Lindstrom completed his Ph.D. in Teacher Education at the University of Hawai’i. Always on the lookout for experiential learning projects, his film and literature students worked as screenwriters, directors, cinematographers, actors, and editors in shooting their own films. His dissertation, titled Beyond Reader Response Theory: Brigham Young University-Hawaii Student Film Adaptations of Previously Published Short Stories, discussed and evaluated the results. He counts himself fortunate to have worked with great students in Hawai’i, Utah, Austria, and the People’s Republic of China. His current interests include screenwriting, photography, and world travels.
